Biographies
Mrs. Beenish W. Nabi
Founder & CEO
Beenish is a married mother of four and is currently working on completing her Ph.D. thesis in Organic Chemistry. Beenish has a master’s degree (MS) with honors from California University, and has extensive experience in mold and indoor air quality. Prior to founding Aerotek Environmental, Beenish spent 4 years as a professor of Chemistry at Government College University teaching undergraduate and graduate level chemistry. She has extensive research experience and has also had her work on mold published in the respected African Journal of Biotechnology (click on PDF link below to download). After her research work and her time as a university professor, Beenish worked as a Chemist in a major US pharmaceutical company. During her work in the private sector she had a vision, that one day people would need clean air. With all the pollutants in the environment, toxic chemicals, carbon & greenhouse gas emissions, and people and children with asthma and allergies, Beenish envisioned creating an indoor air quality company that focuses on helping people breathe clean air and live healthier lifestyles. From this she formed Aerotek Environmental, LLC, which takes a qualitative approach to indoor air quality and is helping people every day breathe cleaner and healthier air.
Mr. Ray Nabi
Owner & President
Ray has over 20 years of experience in indoor air quality and industrial hygiene, specializing in mold inspection and mold remediation. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree (BS) with honors from the University of Houston in 2003. He worked at a major international air purification company as Director of Environmental Services. Later he went on to become Vice President of Operations for the Mid-Atlantic Region where he consulted and worked on various environmental remediation, industrial hygiene, and indoor air quality projects with The White House, N.A.S.A., The Secret Service, The Smithsonian Institute and the JFK Center. Under Ray’s leadership, Aerotek Environmental’s client list includes The State of New Jersey, The Department of Defense, Lockheed Martin, The Kellogg Company, Merck Pharmaceuticals, Astra Zeneca, & SGS to name a few. Ray has numerous industry recognitions and certifications in mold inspection, mold remediation, and air duct system cleaning. Ray later completed Mycology and Microscopy coursework at the prestigious McCrone Research Institute in Indoor Air Quality and Fungal Spore Identification in Chicago, Illinois. Ray has worked on water damage restoration projects on the Gulf Coast after Hurricanes Katrina & Rita, as well as in New Jersey & PA after Hurricanes Sandy, Irene, & Ida. Ray has worked on over 5000 remediation projects from residential and commercial to industrial and governmental. He has been featured as an expert in many newspaper articles, television, courtroom litigation, IAQ Projects, and has even taught national training courses in mold inspection and remediation. Ray is recognized in the IAQ industry as one of the foremost experts in the country on mold. In his spare time, he is actively involved with the New Jersey and Philadelphia area communities and enjoys spending time with his kids and family
Mr. Brandon Schmidt
Vice President of Operations
Brandon is a one of the leading experts on microbial inspection and remediation in the United States; a certified mold and water damage inspector with over 16 years of experience working on residential and commercial properties. Brandon holds IICRC certifications in Water Damage Restoration (WRT), Fire and Smoke Restoration (FSRT), and Applied Microbial Remediation (AMRT), equipping him to handle even the most complex indoor environmental issues. His pure focus is on improving indoor air quality by identifying mold at its source and providing detailed, honest assessments you can trust. In addition to working closely with homeowners, Brandon also has extensive experience navigating insurance claims, assisting adjusters, and helping clients get the support they need for remediation and restoration. When Brandon isn’t inspecting properties, he enjoys traveling, fishing, and spending time with his wife Grea and his dog Izzy.
Mr. Luis Cando
Certified Mold Specialist | Bilingual (English & Spanish)
Luis Cando is a certified mold specialist with comprehensive experience in mold inspections, water damage assessments, moisture diagnostics, and indoor air quality testing. His work focuses on identifying the underlying causes of moisture and microbial issues, allowing for accurate assessments and effective remediation planning.
With years of hands-on field experience, paired with over 14 years in customer service and hospitality, Luis is known for conducting thorough inspections and delivering clear, well-documented findings. His reports are structured, detailed, and technically sound, making them easy to interpret for homeowners while offering expected professionalism.
Luis regularly works with homeowners, tenants, landlords, insurance adjusters, attorneys, and property managers, providing objective evaluations and practical guidance during complex water damage and mold-related situations. His approach emphasizes clarity, accuracy, and transparency, ensuring that all parties understand both the conditions present and the steps required to properly address them.
When Luis is not performing inspections, he enjoys spending time with his wife traveling and trying new food. He also enjoys spending time with his two dogs, fishing, and playing racquetball.
Dr. Shamail Butt
Chairman – Board of Advisors
Dr. Shamail is a board certified physician who specializes in Blood disorders and cancers. He completed his fellowship training at The Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX in Hematology and Medical Oncology. He has served with his expertise at various cancer institutions across the country and is currently at the University of Chicago Cancer Center. He treats immunocompromised patients on a daily basis and he is a proponent of strict environmental hygiene to avoid various viral and fungal illnesses that frequently affect patients with various types of leukemias, lymphomas and other cancers; especially those who are undergoing chemotherapy or have received chemotherapy in the past. Dr. Shamail is condsidered as one of the top specialists in his field and is an invalueable resource for Aerotek Environmental in assisting us in providing direction to some our clients who experience health problems related to toxic mold exposure.
Dr. Ken Nabi
Vice-Chairman – Board of Advisors
Dr. Nabi has a Ph.D. in chemistry from Pacific Western University. He has over 50 years of experience in analytical and physical chemistry. Understanding the technical nature of microbial growth and particulate matter is a complex situation. Proper knowledge and training is vital to ensuring the highest quality of service. Dr. Nabi is head of the advisory board of Aerotek Environmental, LLC and helps in ensuring that Aerotek Environmental remains a leader in the field of microbial inspection & remediation.
Mr. Usman Nabi
Member - Board of Advisors
Mr. Usman Nabi has a B.S. in Biology, a minor in Chemistry from The College of New Jersey and a Masters in Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs from Temple University. He has over 15 years of experience in the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry, 20 years in real estate, and 10 years in strategic financial planning. He is based out of Scottsdale, Arizona and currently advises West Coast operations. His combined experience in all these areas helps us in making important business decisions that contributes to our commitment to providing the highest quality solutions and best customer service.
